Start at the shrine and follow your quest prompts

The Stormforge demo starts by teaching you how to survive, but its endpoint comes after the Squallreaver fight. Follow the opening tutorial until you reach the shrine, then interact with it to meditate and continue the quest. Keep the journal handy when deciding what to work on next. In the demo run shown by a player, the shrine led into the early objectives for preparing a base.

Set up shelter before you push farther

Build a basic shelter with a bed and crafting table. Cook food at a campfire and prepare a glider before taking on more exposed routes. Follow your quest’s gear guidance and put the crystal pillar at the center of your base. A working shelter gives you somewhere to prepare for the next objective instead of trying to solve every problem while a tornado is chasing you.

Clear the storm objectives along your route

Look for the crystal at the center of each storm you’re sent to clear. Depending on the encounter, you may need to bring down a shield or deal with defenders before you can destroy it. Use the glider to get around a pursuing tornado when you have room. Work from the objectives on your map rather than following a fixed line across the terrain.

Defeat Squallreaver and meditate in the arena

The Squallreaver is the demo boss. Prepare for the fight once your objectives lead you there. After defeating Squallreaver, meditate in the arena to trigger the end-of-demo dialog. The developer’s October demo update on Steam specifically added that final prompt.
